Even though the quality of the mohair was excellent, the market came down by 10.0% The stronger micron young and adult mohair came down the most. The trade war between the USA and China was the biggest contributing factor in the drop in market. The average market indicator compared to the corresponding sale of the 2018 winter season closed 10.0% cheaper trading at R222.10/kg.

The average market indicator of kid mohair increased with 1.0% to close at R415.41/kg while the average market indicator of young goat mohair declined with 13.0% to close at R261.74/kg. The average market indicator of fine adult mohair decreased with 14.0% to close at R211.03/kg. The average market indicator for strong adult mohair decreased by 11.0% to close at R193.67/kg.
