Production Loan: Fibre (wool/mohair)
The production loan is granted for a maximum of a 12 month period on the condition that the client has a track record regarding fibre delivery to BKB or a firm undertaking (i.e. cession on proceeds of fibre) is given that fibre will be delivered to BKB.
Minimum Loan | Depending on where the wool is in terms of the production cycle the loan amount will differ. A realistic norm is 50% of the rand value of the average historic fibre delivery. |

Repayment | Capital and interest to be paid within a 12 month period from the proceeds of the fibre.Interest is calculated from the date of the transaction until date of repayment – both dates included |

Credit Line: Livestock
This facility enables livestock farmers, feedlot owners & abattoirs to purchase livestock via BKB auction or liaison transaction. Payments are per invoice and terms vary up to 180 days.
Minimum Loan | R50 000 |
Term | 7 days to 180 days – depending on the production cycle; subjected to an annual review |
Repayment | Capital and interest to be paid within agreed term.Interest is calculated from the date of the transaction until date of repayment – both dates included – unless full repayment is received within 14 days from date of transaction |
Security | General or specific notarial bond over livestock.Commercial covering mortgage bond over property.Surety in favour of borrowing entity from major asset owner, subsidiary and/or shareholder(s). |
Monthly Account
The facility enables a client to transact direct and indirect transactions, regarding the purchase of production inputs, through BKB Trade. Account is payable 30 days after date of statement.
Minimum Loan | R500 |
Term | Ongoing subject to an annual review |
Repayment | Capital and interest payable 30 days after statement.If full payment is received within 30 days after statement – no interest is charged. |
Security | Surety in favour of borrowing entity from major asset owner, subsidiary and/or shareholder(s).Depending on the results of the risk analysis, facility amount, etc. other securities may be negotiated |
Production Loan
The facility enables a client to transact direct and indirect transactions through BKB Trade regarding the purchase of production inputs. Repayment of the account is linked to the specific farming enterprise (i.e. wool / wheat / maize / potatoes / livestock / pineapples) and is settled from the proceeds of that specific farming enterprise.
SecuritySurety in favour of borrowing entity from major asset owner, subsidiary and/or shareholder(s).Depending on the results of the risk analysis, facility amount, etc. other securities may be negotiated.
Minimum Loan | R100 000 |
Term | Full repayment from the proceeds of the specific farming enterprise, depending on the production cycle of the crop, with the understanding that the maximum term is 12 months |
Repayment | Capital and interest repayments to be determined by the cash flow/ production cycle of the business unit/ farming enterprise.For example: winter and summer grains – Capital and interest is payable from the proceeds of the harvest (maximum 12 month period).Interest is calculated from the date of the transaction until date of repayment – both dates included |
