Highest wool price for 2016/2017 season was achieved by Mnr TC Botha from Adelaide! Congratulations!

On the 29th wool auction of the 2016/2017 season, the Cape Wools merino wool market indicator increased by 0,3% to close on 16434c per kg clean.

Average clean wool price indicators for good quality long fleece wool (MF4/MF5) with a tenstile strength of 35 (NKT) were as follows:

18 µ      22248  (+1,8%)                          21 µ      14362   (-2,7%)

19 µ      20013  (+1,7%)                          22 µ      13397   (-3,9%)

20 µ      15778  (+0,1%)                          23 µ      13207   (-3,6%)                                     

The main buyers on the sale were: Standard Wool (3,119 bales), G Modiano (1,451 bales), Lempriere South Africa (1,193 bales). Of the 6,885 bales offered 6,835 bales were declared sold (99%).
