On the 26th wool auction of the 2016/2017 season, the Cape Wools merino wool market indicator increased by 1,6% to close on 16431c per kg clean.

 

Average clean wool price indicators for good quality long fleece wool (MF4/MF5) with a tenstile strength of 35 (NKT) were as follows:

 

18 µ 20895  (+3,9%) 21 µ 14740 (+1,1%)

19 µ 18703  (+1,2%) 22 µ 14166   (+0,1%)

20 µ 15904  (+1,4%) 23 µ 14048   (unchanged)

 

The main buyers on the sale were: Standard Wool (2,485 bales), G Modiano (2,450 bales),

Lempriere South Africa (1,570 bales). Of the 7,863 bales offered 7,804 bales were declared sold (99%).
