Wool Market Report – 4 September 2019

On the 1st wool auction of the 2018/2019 season, the merino wool market indicator decreased with -28.3% to close on 14770c per kg clean. This is approximately -38.02% higher than a year ago. Average clean wool price indicators for good quality long fleece wool (MF4/MF5) with a tenstile strength of 35 (NKT) were as follows:

Niekerksrust 54th Auction Results

On Wednesday, 19 June 2019, Niekerksrust held its 54th production auction at Viljoenskroon. It was a successful day, with an average of R12 230 for the rams and R5 306 for the ewes. The most expensive ram was sold for R30 000 to Mr Pieter Booyens, from Koppies, and Mr Deon van Wyk, from Delmas, bought the most expensive ewe for R12 000.
