On the 30th wool auction of the 2016/2017 season, the Cape Wools merino wool market indicator increased by 1,5% to close on 16673c per kg clean.

 

Average clean wool price indicators for good quality long fleece wool (MF4/MF5) with a tenstile strength of

35 (NKT) were as follows:

 

18 µ     22718  (+2,1%)                                    21 µ     14760  (2,8%)

19 µ     20230  (+1,1%)                                    22 µ     13862   (3,5%)

20 µ     16344  (+3,6%)                                    23 µ     13550   (2,6%)

                       

The main buyers on the sale were: Standard Wool (1,309 bales), G Modiano (1,141 bales),

Lempriere South Africa (967 bales). Of the 4,377 bales offered 4,226 bales were declared sold (96%).
