BKB is a traditional South African livestock business that has created BKBPlus to take a pro-active and customer oriented approach to marketing South African Merino and mohair.

Wool is one of the oldest fibres known to man. So it is probably not surprising that it has traditionally been traded in a fairly old-fashioned way. Farmers raise the sheep and shear their wool, brokers sell the wool on to the processors who sell the tops they spin to the mills who weave the fabric, which they sell to the manufacturers who sell the garments they make to the wholesalers and distributors, and at last it gets to retail. And that’s just the short version! There has not been much to connect the person who grows the wool to the person who eventually wears the product. The BKBPlus concept changes that, by creating a demand-driven supply chain that aligns South African Merino wool growers in a direct link with the end-user in a cyclic trading structure that will bring stability and growth to all levels of the industry. Specifically, BKBPlus offers a global network of like-minded wool producers and processors who proactively work throughout the value chain, developing and capturing markets for South African Merino fibre.
